I CANNOT believe Marlow is starting school in 2 we

I CANNOT believe Marlow is starting school in 2 weeks 😳😢! We debated on going straight to kindergarten or doing a year of Pre-K first and ultimately decided Pre-K was best for her. She’ll have a year to “adjust” to school life, she’ll be the oldest in her class rather than the youngest, and she’ll only go half a day. She is SO excited 🥰
So thank you to everyone to shared their experiences and thoughts about when their kids started school. This definitely feels right for us!

Things to remember: A mile walk on the pier with 3 kids and 4 inner tubes is harder than you’d think. Tying all the tubes together so you’re one big floating island is hard to steer and you are guaranteed to hit every tree branch. When Marlow causally says “Sara there’s a huge spider on you” Brandon will JUMP off the raft to get away from it 🤣

Tonight we had pizza outside, played in the rain, ate icecream in a thunderstorm, piled in the car soaking wet, and danced all the way home.

These are the days the kids will remember. The days we said “Sure, why not” and just had fun!

Marlow is really into taking pictures lately. My phone and iPad are FILLED with Marlow’s daily photo diary. Today she asked to take a picture of me and Maclan. When I asked her why she said “Because you’re my best mom.” And that is why I don’t have a favorite child but if I did it might be her.

She later asked to take a picture of random soccer ball she found because it was the “best soccer she’s ever seen and Maddox would love it.” 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also yes, Maclan is a giant and my back is killing me from carrying him but it’s the easiest way to nap on the go.

It’s days like today that make me really conside

It’s days like today that make me really consider homeschooling next year. For now, I’ve signed Maddox up for f2f and we are touring preschools next week for Marlow. But in the back of mind homeschool is still an option. Do you know anyone that has done homeschooling or a hybrid version? I’d love to connect with more families and learn as much as I can before making any decisions.

We bought Easter baskets and filled them at 10pm the night before (well Josh did 🤣). We didn’t coordinate our outfits or even make the kids dress up. We ate way too much candy, had way too much fun, and it was perfect! ❤️❤️❤️

I swear Marlow was this big yesterday! 😭😍 Ok- talk to me about holding kids back to start kindergarten. Marlow is technically old enough to start kindergarten this year. However, she’s only ever been home with me and wasn’t able to do preschool (because of Covid) so we are debating sending her to a pre-K program next year instead of kindergarten. If she starts kindergarten this year she’ll be one of the youngest. But if we wait one year she’ll be one of the older ones. Did you wait to start your kids or send them as soon as they turned 5?
